Items of Note: * left mirror has roadrash related to my perception of reality ( see additional pics ) * paint discoloration below (riders) left hand side of front lamp - paint is dull; at close range appears bronze/gold; no mech has been able to explain - I am unable to create an image that accurately shows the discoloration - in other words it's hard to see * ~3" scratch below left front lamp; see included pictures, look close * Sargent front seat needs repair - orig owner installed back rest but cut tab securing front seat to frame in process - seat must be sent to Sargent to restore tab; fix is $75 + shipping to/from - I have ridden 16k miles with seat unsecured. - original front and back seat included with sale * PIAA driving lights work great when working but burn fuses; will need further assessment This bike rides like a dream. Since relocating from the SF Bay area I just don't ride enough to justify. When I lived in SF I rode up/down the peninsula ( skyline / santa cruz, hwy 1, hwy 9, etc). In between jobs I took this bike through Northern Northern California, Utah, Death Valley and back. With the 1149cc engine this bike produces enough torque to haul whatever amount of gear you want to pack the panniers with. The BMW 1150RT frame is stiff enough perform through the twisties with ease. California Titled, Nevada Registered Buyer responsible for logistics but I will provide reasonable support with your shipper. I will also offer pick up service from Reno (RNO) airport if you want to fly in and ride bike home. |

2011-2013 BMW F800GS and F700GS Recalled in Canada
Wed, 19 Jun 2013Transport Canada announced a recall for the 2011-2013 BMW F800GS and the 2013 F700GS because of a problem with the kickstand ignition cut-off switch. The switch is designed to turn off the engine when the stand is down and the motorcycle is shifted into gear; this prevents the motorcycle from being ridden with the kickstand deployed. On certain BMW F800GS and F700GS models however, the cut-off switch can loosen and become damaged.
