BMW R-Series description

*updated to full res photos 2 Aug.

Bike is in excellent mechanical condition, but if you want it to look really sharp, it will need a paint job. Driver's seat has a rip on the righthand side, and if you want to do any long trips, you will probably want to get a new seat, or get this one refoamed and recovered. It's fine for around town though.

Extras/Options

ABS power brakes
extended windshield (adjustable for height)
handlebar pullbacks
heated grips
bar end weights/throttle lock
BMW hard luggage
After market exhaust (I have the original if you want it)
BMW engine guards

Recent maintenance
changed alternator belt

replaced fuel filter
replaced both of the fuel line quick disconnects
replaced rubber grips

The only issues with this bike are cosmetic. Runs and drives like a champ.

WSBK 2013: Nurburgring Race Report

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

Tom Sykes has taken over the lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings after splitting race victories with Chaz Davies at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit. Both races ended prematurely however with red flags during the final laps. Pata Honda‘s Jonathan Rea and FIXI Crescent Suzuki‘s Leon Camier both crashed on the 18th lap of Race One after running into oil spilled on the track from Pedercini Kawasaki racer Federico Sandi‘s ZX-10R.

Turn your BMW into a fire engine

Wed, 16 Mar 2011

German fire engine and pump manufacturer Rosenbauer have utilised the ubiquitous BMW 1200 boxer engine to produce a powerful and lightweight water pump.  The engine runs as normal, using it's torqey qualities to power the high pressure waterpump attached.  Firefighters can carry this compact pump closer to the fire, and go where the normal fire engine cannot reach.

BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor

Mon, 30 Jan 2012

David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.
