You are bidding on a 1976 BMW R75/6 motorcycle. I have owned this bike for 1 year. It had been previously owned by a local attorney who had it serviced, gas drained and parked it at the end of 2004. It had been sitting in a conditioned garage until I purchased it. It has a clean Indiana title. I checked all of the vitals, filled with fresh gas and installed a battery. The bike started and runs. I have not taken any of the components off of the motor, or done any type of internal inspection. I have ridden it about 15 miles. I did rebuild the front master cylinder which was leaking and it now works perfectly. I bought it as a project bike but decided to sell because of an out of state job transfer. There are some scratches in the paintwork and a couple small dents in the tank. The pictures tell the story. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional photos. The successful bidder is solely responsible for pick up. I have no way to transport the motorcycle. If you require shipping, it must be picked up by your shipper here. Mon, 28 Sep 2009Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.
BMW Reports Q3 2011 Results
Thu, 03 Nov 2011The BMW Group reported a 14.8% increase in motorcycle revenue and a 6.5% increase in unit sales during the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2011. The German manufacturer sold 28,862 units over the quarter, including 26,312 BMW-branded motorcycles and 2,550 units from its Husqvarna subsidiary.

Mon, 14 May 2012BMW earned its first-ever World Superbike race win at the U.K.’s Donington Park, but missed out on sweeping the round after teammates Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri crashed on the final corner while battling for the lead in the second race. Melandri earned BMW its landmark first win in Race One leading Haslam in a one-two finish. They could have repeated that finish in Race Two but Haslam low-sided after making contact with Honda‘s Jonathon Rea trying to pass on the inside.
