A very special motorcycle rebuilt by us (Bombar's Beemers) four years ago. It has a rare Don Vesco Rabid Transit fairing, Corbin seat, R90S rear fender, Nippon Denso high end starter, Dyna III electronic ignition, Dyna Coils, Carbs completely rebuilt, all fluids and service performed. Lester wheels and newer tires. Top end of the engine was rebuilt by Peter Bombar. Beautiful paint, mint exhausts, and new bags. Original clock and volt meter. Engine temp gauge works but not hooked up. The tank was completely relined to new condition, new petcocks installed, fuel lines and filters replaced, and the wiring was rebuilt in the fairing by Peter Bombar. BMW Quitting WSBK After 2013 Season
Wed, 24 Jul 2013BMW announced it will withdraw its factory support from the World Superbike Championship at the end of the 2013 season. According to BMW, the company will concentrate on its production models including the addition of new small-displacement models and reaching developing markets. BMW Motorrad will also shift resources to other motorsports activities such as supporting customer racing efforts in both international and domestic competitions.
BMW K1600GT Named International Bike of the Year 2011
Thu, 19 Jan 2012The BMW K1600GT has been voted International Bike of the Year 2011 by a panel of motorcycle magazine journalists representing 25 publications from around the world. The six-cylinder BMW K1600GT received a score of 41 points from the jury to top all contenders. Second place went to the Ducati Diavel at 32 points.
British Moto-Journalist Kevin Ash Dies at 2013 BMW R1200GS Press Launch
Wed, 23 Jan 2013(Updated with a message written by Kevin Ash’s oldest daughter, posted on the header of his blog AshOnBikes.) Respected British motorcycle journalist Kevin Ash has died following an accident at a BMW press launch in South Africa for the R1200GS. Ash was a long-time columnist at the U.K.’s MCN as well as the founder of British magazine Fast Bikes. Ash was also a popular freelancer, most notably as the regular motorcycle correspondent for the British newspaper the Daily Telegraph.
