1971 Bmw R-series on 2040-motos
BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
Complete 1971 BMW R75/5 with a R80/7 engine and transmission. Factory R75 engine is long gone. R80/7 Engine has good compression, oil, doesn't leak oil, spins with the starter motor very well, and has very good spark. CARBURETORS NEED COMPLETE REBUILD, bike needs a new battery. I tried to get it started but carbs are very dirty and clogged.
Right cylinder head threads are a little chewed up, SEE PHOTO. Comes with spare exhaust headers, not cylinder heads, I DO NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT CYLINDER HEAD.
I have some of the hardware, but some will need to be sourced. I recommend replacing the cables and grips as well as the rear tire. I have a matching new, never used, rear knobby tire if you would like it.
This bike has been sitting in an aircraft hanger for the last 12 years. It's clean and rust free. Gas tank is completely rust free, minus top inlet, scratched from gas pump nozzles while filling it up. Gas Tank has "Red Kote" liner. Rear wheel is not factory, but I have the factory rear hub and rim, complete with chrome hub cover. All electronics work, headlamp, turn signals, horn, brake light. I have the headlamp chrome and retaining clips.
I have the ignition Key and clear title. I have the front fender and fairing as well.
Speedo is missing the RPM indicator.
PAINT IS NOT ORIGINAL, was repainted back in the day.
Bike has new front tire and tube, I replaced it in order to be able to roll it around.
I've always wanted a R75 but life is forcing me to part with this beauty.
VIEW MY FEEDBACK, bid with confidence.
I can deliver if need be. I live in Texas, delivering to either coast starts at $1300 and goes up from there. Price reflects fast and efficient means of transport.

2023 BMW S1000RR Review - First Ride
Thu, 29 Dec 2022Bavarian Bullet Credit: Photos by BMW Motorrad/Markus Jahn and Jörg Künstle It scarcely seems possible that BMW Motorrad’s lineup-leading S1000RR sportbike actually made its official public debut a whole decade and a half ago in April 2008, with deliveries beginning the following year. Even though 15 years is a long time, especially in the Superbike arena, where serious players like BeeEm, as well as Ducati, Aprilia, and the Japanese, don’t stint on investing in fast-moving high-end technical R&D in pursuit of engineering excellence, the German brand’s first-ever customer motorcycle with a transverse-mounted four-cylinder has maintained its leading edge reputation for both mechanical and electronic innovation ever since then, and the newly introduced latest version is no exception. This is because, for the coming 2023 model year, BMW has essentially uprated its existing volume production version of the bike by transplanting a good chunk of the array of technical upgrades available until now only to around 1,200 well-heeled or well-sponsored users of the M1000RR, the uber-expensive, uber-performing version of BMW’s street-legal superbike that’s been on sale for the past two years, essentially as a homologation special for Superbike racing.
Watch A BMW R1200GS Being Built From Start To Finish + Video
Thu, 24 Apr 2014BMW’s venerable R1200GS has a lot of fans around the globe, including us. To my eyes, the GS does a fine job of maintaining a traditional dirtbike’s minimalist appearance, minus those bulging cylinders protruding from either end. But now more than ever, thanks to the introduction of liquid-cooling, the GS is a modern marvel of mechanical and electrical engineering.
BMW's optional extras are getting ridiculous
Sat, 25 Jan 2014The third instalment of the Indian action blockbuster Dhoom became the highest grossing Indian film of all time. More interesting than that are the laughable bike scenes, with Dhoom 3 featuring one chase scene between a K1300R and a S1000RR. In the first Dhoom film a Hayubasu magically transformed into 125cc bike for a train jump.
