BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
For sale: 1971 BMW R60/5 with a custom scrambler/tracker style set up. Rebuilt Carbs, new tank rubber pads, new BMW badges, new chrome Biltwell tracker bars, Biltwell grips, polished triple tree and clamps, new Shinko trail tires (less than 10 miles on the tires), Great reliable bike. Tank is not perfect. Has one dent towards rider's crotch (pictured) and several paint chips that have been touched up. We opted not to repaint this bike as it is set up as a 50/50 bike and might be prone to scratches anyway. The transmission on this bike is a bit noisy but to be expected of an older model BMW. I would guess the transmission bearings will need to be replaced in the future. This however IS a daily driver ands never left me stranded. A great reliable bike. BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor
Mon, 30 Jan 2012David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.
2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 – First Look
Wed, 02 Oct 2024The Svartpilen 801 has a new roadster-styled sibling, as Husqvarna announces the new “White Arrow” Vitpilen 801. Like the Black Arrow, the Vitpilen adopts the 799cc LC8c Parallel-Twin of the KTM 790 Duke, offering yet a new option to the shared platform. Ryan Adams recently reviewed the Svartpilen 801 and found it a “worthy contender in the market that brings its own unique style alongside proven performance.” That theme continues with the new Vitpilen, which brings its own take, with more aggressive ergonomics and a bright splash of color in yellow (a silver color is also available if you prefer something less flashy).
