BMW R-Series description

HERE'S ONE YOU DON'T SEE EVERYDAY!! THIS IS REGISTERED AS A 1970 BIKE, BUT HAS A 1961 VW ENGINE IN 1950'S BMW FRAME. THIS BIKE IS 1 OF 2 BUILT BY DUANE AUSHERMAN AND STEVE WHITE AROUND 1969-70.  DUANE HAS BEEN IN THE BMW MOTORCYCLE WORLD FOR DECADES AND IS ALWAYS OFFERING ADVICE THROUGH EMAIL AND ON HIS VERY HELPFUL WEBSITE. YOU CAN SEE DUANE ON HIS BMVW IF YOU GO TO HIS WEBSITE. THIS BIKE LOOKS LIKE A FACTORY BIKE, NOT LIKE SOME YOU MAY HAVE SEEN. THE ONLY ITEM HERE THAT IS NOT BMW IS THE ENGINE. TRANS, CARBS, MUFFLERS, AIR CLEANER ARE ALL BMW. I COMPLETELY WENT THROUGH THIS BIKE A COUPLE YEARS AGO. THE DUST ON THE FENDERS SHOWS HOW OFTEN I RIDE THE BIKE. THE BIKE RUNS AND DRIVES VERY GOOD, BUT FROM SITTING NEEDS THE CARBS CHECKED OUT. A SHORT LIST OF ITEMS INCLUDE HOSKE TANK, STADIUM MIRRORS, NEW HEIDENEAU TIRES ON VERY NICE CHROME RIMS WITH NEW SPOKES, MANY POWDERCOATED PARTS, NEW BATTERY AND HARNESS. ENGINE SEALS WERE REPLACED, NEW PUSHROD TUBES, VALVE JOB, CUSTOM EXHAUST-BRUSHED FINISH 69S MUFFLERS. THE LISENCE PLATE AND TUBE ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH THE SALE. I HAVE RIDDEN THE BIKE VERY LITTLE AND NOT SINCE JUNE. IT STARTS RIGHT UP BUT IS NOT IDLEING GOOD NOW. I AM HEARING A TICKING ON THE RIGHT SIDE TOP END. COULD BE AS SIMPLE AS A VALVE ADJUSTMENT OR WRIST PIN BUSHING. BUT IT IS FROM THE TOP END. EXCEPT FOR A FEW EXTRA NUTS AND BOLTS IT IS AS EASY TO WORK ON AS A BMW TWIN. CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS 2039298797, MIKE. $500 PAYPAL DEPOSIT. BALANCE CASH OR WIRE

Bridgestone BT-023 tyre tested

Fri, 19 Mar 2010

Replacing the BT-021, the 023 has a uniform carcass construction but has two different compounds of rubber to alter its performance. The inner rubber is harder for increased life while the rubber on the tyre’s edges is softer for outright grip. On the brief dry sections of our ride the 023 seemed to get up to working temperature rapidly and delivered good dry grip, certainly more than enough for most road riders if you are honest about your riding ability.

How to murder an HP2 Sport

Mon, 08 Oct 2012

Some bikes and cars should be left entirely stock; left unchanged from the way the factory intended them to be. In purchasing them you should understand that. I could produce a list of vehicles that should be taken off the owner if they modified them in any way but I'll save you the boredom.
