Triple matching 1967 BMW R50/2 ~ 641561.we got 2 R50 bikes in last few months. This is one of them, this one mechanically is perfect as it just left factory yesterday. The bike cold starts with first kick and idling smoothly, and it even start cold with one hand. When running it is dead silent even when clutch is pulled; the comment was given “ It ran like an electronic motor!!” . If you wondered how a /2 should sound while it idles, this is the textbook example. This bike is so original and function so well. Therefore, we decided leave this beautiful patina along and focused on the mechanic. We have gone through the whole bike with our high standard shop ready for road service, works performed were as followed: Serviced brake shoes, both front and back. Safety checked/re-torqued on every single nuts and bolts on the whole bike. Re-adjusted front brake setting. Ensured all the wiring/lights functional. Re-set valve gaps to spec. Re-set ignition timing/gap. New Sealed 6 battery, New spark plugs. Cleaned/Re-built both carburetors with new gaskets. Serviced horn. New fuel lines Replaced all fluids (TWICE) (Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive). Cleaned/lubed all the cables. New solo seat. New headlight ear mirrors. This bike wears this 50 years old patina paint lost, and paint touch ups, and front and rear fenders are still very solid. The inside of the gas tank is clean with factory red paint still attached. Key/lock for the gas tank storage door, and fully function. There is video of this bike on you tube for you to watch. Tested: Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact
Mon, 15 Mar 2010With its clever Interact technology Metzeler has created a tyre that has a varying carcass construction to alter how the rubber performs. Without going too deeply the M5 consists of five bands of belting that vary in stiffness. At the outer edges of the tyre the carcass is quite flexible, allowing the rubber to move around and generate more heat and therefore grip, while nearer the tyre’s centre the carcass is stiffer, reducing the rubber’s movement and decreasing its wear.

Mon, 07 Oct 2013BMW has updated its R1200GS Adventure for 2014, giving it similar updates introduced on the R1200GS including the liquid-cooled 1170cc boxer engine. The more off-road capable version of the GS now has more power than ever before, as well as the option of coming with BMW’s semi-active suspension. Click here for more photos of the 2014 BMW R1200GS Adventure The new engine has the same peak output as the base GS, claiming 123 hp peak output at 7750 rpm, an upgrade over the previous air-cooled engine’s claims of 110 hp.
2014 BMW R1200RT Spied Testing
Thu, 21 Mar 2013With the new 2013 BMW R1200GS now launching worldwide, it really should be no surprise BMW is working on more models using the GS’s new liquid-cooled boxer engine. A contributor to French site MotoMag happened upon a crew of test riders on heavily camouflaged test mules of what appears to be the 2014 BMW R1200RT. The swirly camo pattern does little to hide the new “precision cooling” liquid-cooled engine, easily identified by the pipes exiting from the bottom of the cylinders.
