I bought this BMW R60/2 in 2008 in Hurricane, WV in 2008.  It was a mess and needed restoring.  The owner I bought it from got it from his high school teacher, the original owner, in 1977.  


I decided to have it restored in 2012.  I took it Rex at Brit bike repair in Franklinton, NC.  The rebuild consisted of a  total top and bottom end rebuild, Slingers cleaned and all motor bearings and seals replaced, new rings and honed cylinders, new top end valve work, new valve covers, new coil from Germany, halogen conversion 6v headlight, LED bulb in taillight, new chrome exhaust from Germany, new albert mirrors, powder coated frame and fenders. All new rubber components, new wiring harness.  I put less than 100 miles on it since restoration and haven’t ridden it much since and was parked in a garage.Bike had 17,000 miles on it before I sent Speedo off to be rebuilt and turned back to 0.   Bike comes with clear Kentucky Title and registration. original denfeld seat, original advance, etc.. Also has tire pump, steering lock key, and partial tool kit,  . The R60/2 starts right up w/ 1 kick.  Performs flawlessly, engine is very quiet. Gets lots of admiration. In excellent restored condition, it is a one kick ready to ride bike. Matching 1963 R60/2 triple Matching engine, ID tag & frame numbers. Please contact me at if you have any questions, and you are welcome to come over to inspect the bike. BMW Launches New National Television Ad Campaign – Video

BMW Motorrad USA has launched a new national ad campaign, its first in the U.S., according to the company, in over 20 years. The new ad campaign – “Feed Your Restless” – begins today, March 1, and will run more than 1,500 times through June on Velocity, Speed, Fuel TV, the Sportsman Channel, ESPN, ESPNews, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, and the National Geographic Channel. BMW has produced four commercials for the campaign, three that will run nationally and a fourth for dealers to use for their local markets.

BMW Set Single Month Sales Record in April 2013 – New R1200GS Represents 27.7% of Sales Volume

BMW announced it set a new company all-time sales record for a single month, delivering 14,587 motorcycles to customers in April 2013. That represents an 11.5% increase from the 13,088 motorcycles sold in April 2012. The record month helped push BMW‘s overall sales over the first four months to 39,319 motorcycles and scooters, a 5.0% increase from the 13,088 units sold in the same period of 2012.

Chris Vermeulen to Replace Colin Edwards at Le Mans

NGM Forward Racing has named veteran MotoGP racer Chris Vermeulen the substitute rider for the injured Colin Edwards at the May 20 French Grand Prix at Le Mans. Vermeulen will ride the team’s BMW-powered Suter Claiming Rule machine. Vermeulen raced four full seasons in MotoGP from 2006-2009, all with the Rizla Suzuki team.
