BMW R-Series description

Older Restoration - Looks and Runs like New!

First place winner January 2013 Miami Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Winter Antique Motorcycle Meet and Show at Frost Park next to Dania Jai Lai, in European Class which consisted of BMW, Ducati, Benelli, Puch, Gilera, NSU, Hoffmann and Munch.

Purchased bike 22 years ago at Daytona Motorcycle Winter Nationals. I drove and tested at time of purchase and brought back to Fort Lauderdale where it has been stored in an air conditioned private show room for the last 22 years. Down sizing to smaller private showroom.

I have cleaned, removed pickling, installed new oil. Removed, cleaned and reassembled carburetor. Installed new battery, put gas in tank, installed new spark plug, turned on fuel, tickeled carburetor, CRANKED ONCE and turn on ignition. You can believe this or not, IT STARTED ON FIRST KICK. I then took for a test ride. Transmission worked perfect! Good brakes. Went over 60mph, ran and handled fine. You can drive to Alaska!  I believe this model R25 was the first new 250cc starting 1950 after World War II.

Have 1964 Norton Cafe Racer 650cc, 1975 Norton 850 Commando electric start, Triumph 650 (several different years up to 1970).

Please contact "Bob" with any questions at (954) 646-7022

This bike is being relisted as the top bidder was a scam. PLEASE BE CAREFUL BUYERS AND SELLERS

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

So as we know, the BMW i8 sports car is promising to be a real step forward when it comes to fuel efficient sports cars. Powered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor, it promises acceleration times once only occupied by the highest level of supercars. However, was a three-cylinder engine always on BMW’s agenda?

BMW Standardizes Switches

Thu, 23 Oct 2008

Whenever you throw your leg over a bike that isn’t your own, there is always a few minutes needed to become familiar with the proportions and controls of the foreign machine. Getting a sense of the clutch release point, brake feel, throttle response and riding position may all differ from what you have been accustomed, but they slowly become second nature after enough seat time is logged. One such control that strays from this rule of thumb is the turn signal operation of many BMWs.
