1980 Yamaha XT250 (1980)
This auction bid is for a 1980 Yamaha XT 250 dual sport. I purchased the bike from the original owner approximately 8 years ago for my wife; she rode it a couple of times and it's been stored since. Overall condition is very good for its age. There is a dent in the left side of the tank and the the handlebar is bent slightly (by original owner). There are also some chips in the sidecovers as seen in the photos. Mechanically the bike is in great shape and runs well. While removing the exhaust for painting the head broke off one of the exhaust bolts; the exhaust gasket still seals but this should be fixed before the bike is ridden extensively (no more than a $75 fix at your local bike shop, I've lowered the reserve to address this). The battery and tires are original and should also be replaced as well. Overall a very nice bike for riding or full restoration. The bike is being offered as-is with no warranty. I am relisting the bike as the previous high bidder did not pay for/pick up the bike within the specified timeframe; please do not bid unless you are serious about completing this transaction. Payment/delivery terms are as follows: The winning bidder is required to contact me via eBay messaging within 48 hours of auction close and specify a pickup date and time. The bike can be picked up anytime from 9/6/13-9/8/13 and from 9/14/13-9/15/13. I would like a 25% deposit if delivery is after 9/8/13. The original Slingshot debuted in 2015 and just received some updates for 2025, but somehow, the red, black and white color scheme with teal highlights makes me think back even further to old Transformers toys from the '80s. The livery is primarily a Radiant Red Pearl similar to a color offered on the original Slingshot, with Black Metallic, white for contrast and teal highlights with ghosted graphics.

Wed, 26 Feb 2025The USA’s MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship road race program took a definite Down Under turn in 2024, with reigning three-time Australian Superbike champion Troy Herfoss becoming the new King of the Baggers in his rookie year of racing on North American racetracks. He did so after swiftly coming to grips with the humungous torque and massive bulk of the factory Indian Challenger he rode to the title. But Herfoss, 38, was also a contender in the KOTB’s sidebar series, the 10-race Super Hooligan National Championship, in which he shocked the MA paddock by winning the opening round, and his first race ever at the Daytona International Speedway, aboard another Indian factory V-Twin, the leaner, lighter FTR1200.
