Bosch Announces Next-Generation Radar-Based Safety Systems
Thu, 26 Sep 2024Four of the six new systems will debut on a new KTM in November Bosch announced six next-generation radar-based rider assistance systems that it claims could help make motorcycling safer and more comfortable. These six systems – five of which Bosch claims to be world-firsts – offer a step beyond radar-based adaptive cruise control. Bosch also confirmed that four of the systems (all involving forward-facing radar sensors) will debut on a new model from KTM that is set to debut in November.
2012-2013 BMW S1000RR Side Stand Recall Expands to US
Fri, 28 Dec 2012Earlier this month, we reported a recall issued by Transport Canada for the 2012 and 2013 BMW S1000RR because of a problem with their side stands. That recall has now expanded to the U.S., affecting 2,385 units. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the side stand attachment bolts on the affect BMW S1000RR units can loosen because of a manufacturing fault.
Gesture-controlled Audi wins VDA Design Award
Wed, 25 Sep 2013The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) has announced the winner of its 2013 Design Awards, which asked students from across the world to submit their final graduating projects completed between October 2011 and July 2013. Eric Leong from Sweden's Umeå Institute of Design, came in first place with his 'Audi Elite' project, earning himself €4,000. Leong's single-person vehicle can be controlled using the entire body through gestures and movements, and adapts to the needs of the driver, giving them more control.
