BMW Other description

2013 BMW R1200 RT, This 2013 BMW R1200RT in Magnesium is available for sale at Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay located at 8509 Gunn Highway, Odessa, Florida 33556 Phone:813-926-9937 OPTIONS: This 2013 BMW R1200RT comes equipped with ABS, Audio system with radio, and bluetooth interface. OVERVIEW: As far as 2-cylinder fans are concerned, first-class touring has a memorable abbreviation and it s been around for 30 years: RT. For long-haul travelers there can hardly be any other term which has always stood for perfectly conceived motorcycling concept from start to finish: excellent wind and weather protection, optimum ergonomics, highly convenient operation combined with a top-class chassis fitted with the unique optional extras ASC and ESA II*. In the touring segment, these features probably define the ultimate benchmark of innovation. Even though the R 1200 RT cuts a superb figure everywhere with its dynamic new design, everything about it sends out the message: built to cover thousands of miles, preferably in one go. Then there is this fascinating mixture of distinctive engine and big bike dynamics. The characteristic boxer supremacy has been further enhanced in the current version: the engine s crowning glory is now the radial DOHC** valve operating system from the HP2 Sport, though here designed for greater torque and without any loss of running smoothness: maximum torque 88 ft-lb at 6000 rpm, rated output still at 110 hp. This means a tangible increase in thrust from the lower engine speed range through to above the medium range. The new valve control in the exhaust system ensures a discreet but more dynamic sound. And in terms of comfort, the bike boasts a new audio system available as an optional extra, with the innovative operating concept Multi-Controller carrying out virtually all commands from a single unit. So there s only one thing you have to do yourself drop by for a test ride. *ESA II = Electronic Suspension Adjustment. Electronic spring mount and spring rate adjustment ** DOHC = Double Overhead Camshaft, two overhead camshafts per cylinder 90 years of character. 90 years of endurance. BMW Motorrad is marking the anniversary of the comfortable boxer model and its irrepressible pioneering spirit 90 years of motorcycle construction motivated by sheer passion. The special model of the R 1200 RT brings 90 years of success to life. Finished in matt black/gold with an exclusive brass plate on the clamp, this distinctive touring bike is presented in homage to the tradition and origins of BMW Motorrad. The anniversary model instantly demonstrates what perfect shape it is in right on time for its 90th birthday. 90 years unstoppable: the distinctive touring bike.

The Falloon Files: 1973 BMW R90S

Mon, 24 Oct 2022

Let's Boxer In 1973, I was beginning to look at the streetbike magazines as well as the dirtbike ones on the magazine rack at Lyons Drug; there must’ve been 20 or 30 of them, and plenty of time to browse as there was no www, and very little hope of obtaining any motorcycle at all anytime soon. The 1973 BMW R90S was a chunk of pure unobtanium, from a planet far, far away, that knocked my striped tube socks completely off. Ian Falloon wrote an entire 128-page book about it.
