Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.
2014 BMW R1200GS Adventure Revealed
Mon, 07 Oct 2013BMW has updated its R1200GS Adventure for 2014, giving it similar updates introduced on the R1200GS including the liquid-cooled 1170cc boxer engine. The more off-road capable version of the GS now has more power than ever before, as well as the option of coming with BMW’s semi-active suspension. Öhlins Introduces Electronically Adjustable Suspension System Replacement for BMW R1200GS ESA
Thu, 11 Aug 2011Öhlins has introduced what it is calling the world’s first replacement electronic suspension system, with a new aftermarket replacement kit for the BMW R1200GS’s Enduro ESA system. Like BMW‘s ESA and ESA II technology, Öhlins’ system lets riders adapt a motorcycle’s suspension with the push of a button. Öhlins’ system works with the R1200GS’s ECU and the existing user interface.
