BMW Other description

  • 2009 BMW R1200HP2 Sport, Collectible & Rare Blue-Black-White Hyper Exotic Carbon-Fiber Sports Bike.

  • I purchased this bike directly from Long Beach BMW motorcycles in late 2010. I was the first owner and it was titled in 2010 in California.
I have always kept it in my garage under a cover, never ridden it in rain. It has never been dropped, or tracked. I rode it around the local mountain roads, but for the past 3 years I haven't had much time to ride it.

  • It was built for 3 years only, and just 25 of these machines were imported into the United States in 2010. 2008 saw just 10 units imported and only 75 were brought in during the peak year of 2009. With an original MSRP of $26,995 it was never intended to be in everyone’s garage; just a lucky few. To make them still harder to attain several more examples this limited machine were retained by BMW Motorrad USA for various projects, racing and a few “special purposes” that we never fully disclosed to even the dealers. Only 115 were imported to the US and not all those were even available for sale to the public, so rumor is that under 100 were ever delivered to retail customers! That sounds like a future collectible...

It's hard to say good bye to this beautiful machine but it's time to find a new home for it.

There is one tiny paint chip behind the seat, but everything else looks perfect and in showroom condition. This is the super rare and sought after ABS version bike...

I am not interested in trade offers. Bike comes with original manual, keys, tool kit.

French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011

    Mon, 24 Oct 2011

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. Recently, however, the French motorcycle website, Moto-net.com, has produced convincing images that appear like photos of a complete Versys 1000, including matching hard luggage.

CFMoto 650TK Riders Set Record with 21,222-Mile Tour of China

    Fri, 20 Dec 2013

A couple of adventurers have claimed a new world record for longest journey by motorcycle in a single country after completing a 21,222-mile trek around China. Buck Perley and Amy Mathieson completed their trek, traveling all 33 of China’s provinces in 147 days on a CF Moto 650TK sport-tourer. Guinness World Records still needs to ratify the couple’s journey, but if it stands, they will have surpassed the previous record of 18,041 miles set by Steven H. Siler earlier this year, after he completed his 26-day trip around the U.S.

2012-2013 BMW S1000RR Recalled for Loose Side Stands

    Mon, 17 Dec 2012

BMW has initiated a recall on the 2012 and 2013 S1000RR because the side stands may not have been correctly installed. According to Transport Canada, the side stand attachment bolts may loosen, causing an S1000RR to fall over while resting on the stand. At the moment, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has yet to announce a recall, but American members of Motorcycle.com‘s S1000RR Forum say U.S.
