BMW Other description

2009 Bmw G 650 Xcountry, Kept in Remarkable Shape! - See a Road. Eat a Road. The most versatile member of BMW Motorrad's fresh new G series line up, the G 650 Xcountry is the classic scrambler concept topped off with a few modern features unique to BMW, like a zippy 53 horsepower single cylinder engine, and a high performance lightweight design. With a round head lamp, round side panels and black, anodized wheels, the look of the Xcountry is edgy and totally striking. Add Marzocchi telescopic forks and Magura aluminum handlebars and you can attack any road you want, from dusty gravel tracks to asphalt sweepers. On-road or off-road, the Xcountry is one scrambler that's will have your heart revving as fast as your tachometer.

Latest on my S1000RR

Mon, 04 Oct 2010

Not sure what's going on with the sound in this vid, but it calms down after a minute - sorry! As my long term BMW S1000RR does most of its miles working hard on track days, I felt an early 6000 mile service might be a good idea. A quick phone call to my local dealer (the friendly and efficient Pidcocks) saw my bike in the workshop the following week and back in my hands by lunchtime.

Question of the Day: Single-sided or Double-Sided Swingarms

Tue, 06 Aug 2024

The classic form versus function debate A couple of weeks ago, Ducati pulled the covers off its seventh-generation superbike, the 2025 Panigale V4 and V4 S. The new Panigale introduced a number of changes to the engine, chassis and electronics, aimed at pushing the performance envelope even further. There was one particular change that we knew was going to be polarizing: the change from a single-sided swingarm to a double-sided swingarm.

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates

Tue, 03 Jan 2012

In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.
