VIN Vehicle Identification Number 660700 This R69S has a Euro speedometer and reads an impressive 200kms per hour registering 54 160kms 33 633mis which I believe is an accurate indication of mileage The numbers all match The VIN is 660070 They only made these for a few years and they are getting hard to come by Based on this VIN number this bike is smack dab in the middle of the manufacturing run of only 11 316 world wide I always believed this was a 1961 BMW but the numbers indicate a later model so i ve estimated to 1964 they are all good years This motorcycle starts right up and runs fine no unusual noises or knocks The engine does not smoke and it shifts like it should The electric system all functions properly It has a new battery It has Hella bar end signals It has a large sports tank It also has the wide touring Schoisch Meier seat It has the frame mounted BMW tire pump tool box manuals Over all condition I believe the paint is original I have never painted it There

BMW Sets February Sales Record With 18.3% Growth

BMW continues to set new motorcycle sales records, with an 18.3% year-on-year growth helping the company set a new benchmark for sales in February. The German manufacturer reported sales of 8,098 motorcycles and scooters in February, an impressive 18.3% increase over the 6,847 units sold in the same month last year. The record February followed another record in January which saw a year-on-year increase of 12.9%.

2014 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy Announced

After holding three events in the southern hemisphere, the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy will go north in September 2014, to Canada. Billed as the GS riders’ Olympics, the biennial competition pits teams representing different countries against one another in a number of challenges testing their riding skills. Previous competitions had competitors riding the F800GS but for 2014, the GS Trophy will switch to the liquid-cooled R1200GS.
