BMW K-Series description

If you've never seen one or heard of this bike, you should do a search and look it up. THEY DO NOT COME UP FOR SALE VERY OFTEN.  A true collectors bike. Starts easily and runs, drives, shifts and stops well. All of the lights and electrical work as they should and the ABS shows functional. Mileage will adjust slightly as it gets ridden.  It has a couple of flaws which I would be happy to explain via phone.  The blue body work is all original and in very good condition, the silver portions were originally yellow but was professionally done in silver.  This is the main thing that keeps this bike in the 4 digit price range. Brand new battery and fuel pump.  I also have code correct BMW Laguna Blue touch up paint. Tires have over 75% tread.  Fork seals do NOT leak.

So I know everyone says they have a rare bike...this one actually is. There were only 6,921 ever produced and only 671 brought into the US. This bike is the 3rd bike (by VIN #) ever brought into the states. It is a 1 owner bike that has 15,060 original miles on the odometer and is in very good condition. I have a set of stock silver BMW K1 decals to go with the bike.  As aerodynamic as this bike is, it is definitely NOT a flying brick!

Check your vintage bike price guides and look at the current value and this is for sure one bike that will NOT depreciate. This is the first model of motorcycle to offer ABS and this bike has that option. It also has a very rare option on it, the black engine covers which were made for the Swiss market for sound and heat dampening. They were $850 and I've only ever seen 1 picture with them in it...they are in excellent condition with all tabs and mounting screws intact.

I have researched this bike and can tell you lots regarding it's history, provenance and condition and am willing to answer any questions or need specific pictures. I've also got some extra parts...clear open title. Please use the VIN # if you wish to investigate on your own.

Works on Bikes: EX BMW

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Take a 1991 BMW K100, put in a whole load of creativity and 99 hours of effort and you get this: the Works on Bikes EX BMW. Called the EX BMW because the two guys and girl behind this custom from Milan only kept the engine and part of the original frame. It uses wood, steel, laser machining, CNC and probably the odd bash with a hammer.

Turn your BMW into a fire engine

Wed, 16 Mar 2011

German fire engine and pump manufacturer Rosenbauer have utilised the ubiquitous BMW 1200 boxer engine to produce a powerful and lightweight water pump.  The engine runs as normal, using it's torqey qualities to power the high pressure waterpump attached.  Firefighters can carry this compact pump closer to the fire, and go where the normal fire engine cannot reach.
