BMW K-Series description
I am selling my 1985 BMW K100RS. The bike has been great to me but I am looking to sell due to no winter storage.
It is in great shape with an army green paint job and new custom marine vinyl seat. Mechanically the bike is solid. I bought the bike mid 2015, from the previous owner who was a BMW collector. Just before sale to me, he flushed the coolant system, rebuilt the water/oil pump with the updated impeller shaft and seal, and lubed the clutch and drive splines. This service was performed at about 53,000 miles. It currently has decent tires on, with about 60% or so tread remaining. The brake pads and rotors are in good condition and function properly. The bike has had the original fairings removed to give it more a scrambler appearance. The seat was made by a friend and put on a few months ago. As you can see in the pictures, the stitching is decent though some lines/spacing are a little off. It really cant be noticed from a few feet away. I also have another seat/cowl to go along with the bike - it is a solo cafe style, which was made from the original Corbin seat and rear cowl. The battery is about 6 months old. The rear lights are LED, which causes the brake light to remain on, on the dash. The speedometer is flaky and lately has not been functioning properly more often than not. It will sometimes work when you hit a bump, which leads me to believe there is some corrosion on the speedo leads - which is a common problem with these bikes. The rest of the dash works as designed. The front master cylinder may need cleaning/rebuild, as it slowly leaks fluid from the bore. Other than mentioned above, the bike runs/functions flawlessly. It starts perfectly cold or hot, and I never have any hesitation to just hop on and take a day/weekend trip. A video of it running can be found here: https://youtu.be/Ile-sD5vMhw The bike is for sale locally, and I welcome any questions or to come out and view in person. Buyer is responsible for arranging and all costs related to pickup/shipping |

BMW Concept 6 [video]
Mon, 23 Nov 2009BMW introduced an inline six-cylinder café racer concept at the 2009 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. Inline-six engines have a staple in BMW’s automobiles for decades and the German manufacturer’s motorcycle division took on the challenge of adapting the straight-six to a bike without making it too long or too wide. The result is the BMW Motorrad Concept 6, and an evolution BMW says “will further expand the K-Series in the foreseeable future”.
