1985 Bmw K-series on 2040-motos
BMW K-Series tech info
BMW K-Series description
Runs
and looks great. Very rare, all original bike…very collectable. First year in
the US…it has the sought after FYK high-power engine with "hotter" European
cams (March 1984). The appearance is really stunning. Has the natural color
motor and drive train that really shows off the beauty of the design. These
bikes are quickly climbing in value. Wish I could keep it, however, we're moving. This
original bike is a one owner. I bought the bike from the original owner's
grandson. He never got it running. It appears the original owner disabled the
bike at some point by removing some fuses and switching the spark plug wires. The
title is still in the original owner's name. I have all the original equipment
and accessories plus a great BMW tank bag with extension and rain cover. It was last on the road in 1989! After
I got it, the following was done… • New
Bosch fuel pump and filters kit (see pic) • New
fuel lines • New
pressure regulator • Fuel
injectors ultrasonically cleaned and tested by Mr. Injector • Gas
tank cleaned • New
Spark plugs • New
front and rear tires: Continental • All
drive shaft splines greased • New
battery: Odyssey • Engine
oil and filter change • Transmission
oil changes • Rear
drive oil changes • Flushed
brake fluids • New
front and rear brake pads • New
rear brake master cylinder This
K100RS now runs great! Starts right up, idles smooth and runs very strong. I
put over 330 miles on it. It's a fast bike! Brakes are firm and strong. Shifts
easy and smooth. All electrical parts are working. See it run, go to YouTube and search for: yX_WBpu2Zcc Cosmetics are very good. The tank is perfect. Fairing has a few nicks here and there. There is a raspberry on the right side engine cover. The bike currently shows 16,200 miles. However, the dealer documentation show the odometer was replaced at 8,181 miles. Therefore, the bike has 24,381 actual miles. Almost all early K bikes had odometers failures. Included
in this Auction… • Original
title with open signature • Original
tool kit • Original
tire repair kit (never used) • Original
Owner's manual and documents • Service
manual • Original
folding key plus a spare plus saddle bag keys • Original
saddlebags • BMW
Tank Bag with all accessories…beautiful bag!! • Optional
BMW tail rack (not installed) • Muffler
cover (not installed) • Some
spare parts shown in the picture
There
is a leaky right fork leg that I never attempted to fix it. There is a crack in
the lower portion of the radiator cover. Also, a very small oil leak at the oil
filter…I was planning on a second oil change so I didn't replace the oil filter
o-ring. I had hoped to do the second oil change by now, but that didn't happen. I
have a clean title and it is ready to go! This is a no reserve auction, so high
bidder takes it. Check my approval rating, I’m a legitimate seller! If you have
no rating, contact me first. No fooling around. I will need $200 down payment
within 48 hours. No ending the action early. Shipping is up to you, but you can
contact me if you need help. Bike is in Union, KY just south of Cincinnati, OH.
Contact me with questions. Good

BMW Lo Rider Concept at EICMA
Wed, 05 Nov 2008BMW Motorrad has unveiled a bold new concept bike at the EICMA show in Milan which they call a study in design and engineering. Using the words purist and powerful to describe the concept, BMW has left nothing but the essentials present in a truly naked motorcycle. One of the goals of this concept is to custom fit man and machine.
2021 Heavyweight Naked Bike Spec Shootout
Fri, 12 Nov 2021Prelude to battle MO’s string of naked motorcycle shootouts continues, and this time we saved the best for last. We started things off in June with the middleweight class, seeing the Triumph Trident 660 emerge from a six-bike shootout. In August, we moved up a weight class and saw the Yamaha MT-09 come out ahead in another six-motorcycle dog fight.
2024 BMW R 1300 GS Review – First Ride
Mon, 20 Nov 2023Smaller, faster, more complex An R 1300 GS has never existed until now. An obvious statement, but truly, this is a new motorcycle that, while carrying with it the spirit of what the BMW GS name embodies, is delivered in a completely new way. The 1300 GS is like no motorcycle that has come before it wearing the storied moniker.
