BMW F-Series description

2007 F650GS in great working order. Have to part with the bike due to imminent work transfer to the east coast. Its a good solid performer both on and off road. It loves the desert! Added features include: Cee Bailey windshield with Motopocket, 2 inch ROX risers and extended brake cable, Ram ball mount on handlebar, Touratech fairing crash bars, Hepco & Becker tail rack, wide grip foot pegs, Cyclops LED 2600 headlight with the Signal Dynamics modulating headlight module. Front and back tires are Full Bore M-40 with plenty of tread life left. Has new fuel  pump installed by dealer in 2015. Heated hand grips, ABS brakes and 5 speed transmission. Also included: OEM top case, foot pegs and used-but-good Pirelli front tire.

Up Front Considerations: its got the normal expected dings from off road use - its a GS so it comes with the territory. Crash bars have done well to protect it. Cee Bailey windscreen has some cracks at the bolt points but no loss of structural integrity and the hand guards have the typical battle scars; chain and sprocket were recently adjusted and lubed by dealer (May 2016) but have 8000 miles on them and was on my list for future replacement - you may have different criteria for replacement, oil and spark plug changed last year also on my maintenance list. Bike runs well and dependably. I regularly run this up to Butler Peak in the San Bernardino mountains on the fire service roads where I am a fire lookout. Its never let me down. I just dont have time now for this bike. My loss is your gain.

Clear title (California). Payment must be in the form of cash or cashiers check. Buyer is responsible for pickup from location. Pickup and payment must occur within 72 hours of auction close unless arrangements have been agreed to by seller and buyer.

Teaser: 2012 Japanese Literbike Shootout – Video

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

The last time we assembled the superbike offerings from the Big Four Japanese manufacturers to determine the alpha male model was 2009. The CBR won that confrontation, but a lot’s changed since then. For 2012 Honda revamped the CBR1000RR, Yamaha added traction control to the R1, the GSX-R1000 lost a muffler and last year Kawasaki introduced an all-new ZX-10R.

Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.

Michelin Launches New Pilot Road 4 Sport-Touring Tire

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Coming in 2014 is an all-new range of motorcycle tires from Michelin, available in three versions: the Michelin Pilot Road 4, Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT and Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail. Covering virtually every category of sport-touring motorcycle, the Pilot Road 4 line is well suited for motorcycles over 600cc. They were designed to deliver maximum safety in the most common conditions of use, especially on wet roads and in particular when braking. In its press release Michelin also claims extended tire life, which we assume is in comparison to the Pilot Road 3.
