Vespa Elettrica Preview

Tue, 08 Nov 2016
Currently, the Vespa Elettrica is in project phase, but mother company Piaggio says production and sales of the Vespa Elettrica will begin in the second half of 2017, perhaps as a 2018 model. Piaggio supplied no technical information but eluded to the grandness of the Vespa Elettrica project. See highlights of the press release below.

“The Vespa Elettrica will, first and foremost, be a true Vespa, bringing the very latest in electric technology to a vehicle that will retain all the features that have been vital to its success. The style, agility, ease of use and riding pleasure will be the same as the Vespa we have always known, with the addition of technological and innovative connectivity solutions. A perfect mix of excitement, technology, and environmental friendliness that only Vespa can create. Like it has always done in its first seventy years of history.”

How come only Piaggio makes good lookig scooters? Aprilia did have the Havana/Mojito a while ago. That has a handsome bike. I think I would like to have a scooter, but it will have to be a Piaggio, prolly a Vespa.

Vespa just has the style pinned down. If any other company makes something that is remotely similar to Vespa, it will just be another copy and it won't sell, I think.

Vespa just came with a great looking body and kept true to their successes... When something works you stick with it... I love the look of a Vespa and their made from sheet-metal body's with re-enforced welding.. It make the Vespa weigh more and gives it strength... I'm waiting until the electric Vespa's come out in the second half of 2017 as 2018 Vespa's!
