Used Review: A-stars Radiant gloves
Tue, 01 Jun 2010I took three sets of gloves to Morocco back in January. A set of leather summer gloves, the Alpinestars 365 Gore-Tex gloves and these Alpinestars Radiant Drystar gloves.
There was a bit of science in the planning but in truth, I struck it lucky. The leather summer gloves were intended for when it was sunny, which it wasn’t. The 365 Gore-Tex gloves were perfect when it was raining, which it did, for days.
However, I wore the Radiant Drystar for most of the trip, as they were brilliant at keeping the freezing conditions bearable. They’re padded with 3M Thinsulate, but not bulky, so there’s plenty of feel.
They’re not great at keeping out hours of rain, but if it’s frosty outside and you’re doing some distance, these are the gloves you want. There’s no armour, but I did crash in them and they held together well, as did my hands. Which is nice.
