Update: Bike Stolen On ‘Round The World Adventure Recovered!
Wed, 22 Jan 2014Martin Williams, the man who had his motorcycle stolen halfway through his trip around the world, has been reunited with his Kawasaki. A man walking his dog one morning spotted the bike and reported it to authorities.
Williams was obviously elated to get his bike back, but the thieves unfortunately had their way with it before it was recovered. According to Williams, it needs a new number plate, and both the electronics and fuel cap have been hacked to bits. However, ”the bike is a bit battered round the edges but I have got it running,” he said.
The motorcycle was stolen in Swansea as Williams was visiting his father in the town he spent his youth. He had planned on spending the Christmas holiday with him and his three boys. Williams had left his home in Australia in July and reached Wales by November. On January 14, he awoke to discover his bike missing.
With the bike back in his possession, Williams intends to complete his journey through Europe and Africa. Presumably after the appropriate repairs are made.
