Triumph Teases 2025 Speed Twin RS

A sportier Modern Classic is on the way

Triumph has released teasers for a new addition to its Modern Classics lineup, which we believe to be a 2025 Speed Twin RS. No announcement date was provided, but we suspect the full reveal will be coming in the next month or so.

The teasers, sent out on Triumph’s social media channels and an email update sign-up page on its official website, show a familiar-looking fuel tank shape with the letters “RS” clearly displayed. The page on Triumph’s site promises “exhilarating sports performance combined with agile, dynamic handling, all wrapped in the timeless style and character that only Triumph can deliver.”

A teaser video provides only quick glimpses of the new model, showing familiar Triumph styling cues. Right away, we notice gold-colored Marzocchi forks with a different triple tree clamp design from ones currently used on Triumph’s Modern Classics. Later on, we get a brief look at a rear shock with black coils and a gold-colored remote reservoir.

The headlight remains a single circular unit, but it’s got a different mount, and doesn’t appear to stick out from the fork tubes as much as the light on current Triumphs. Other details we can make out include a Brembo master cylinder and front brake calipers, a new muffler design, and a reddish orange (ketchup?) paint scheme with black and white details and a metallic gray front fender.

The Speed Twin was not among the models Triumph announced with new colors for 2025.

As we noted when Triumph announced its first batch of returning 2025 models, the Speed Twin 1200 was the only member of the Modern Classics range that hasn’t been confirmed. We suspect Triumph will be releasing an updated Speed Twin model along with a more performance-oriented RS version.

Triumph previously announced that the Thruxton RS was going away with a Final Edition model for 2025. A new Speed Twin RS would presumably take its place in Triumph’s lineup, at least until the Thruxton inevitably returns somewhere down the line.
