Fri, 17 Jan 2014Suzuki Motor of America has named long-serving executive Takeshi Hayasaki as the company’s new president, replacing Toru Muraki
in leading the company heading into its second year since emerging from bankruptcy proceedings.
Hayasaki assumed his new role on Dec. 16, 2013, bringing years of experience with Suzuki Motor Corporation. “Suzuki Motor of America, Inc., is well-positioned right now for growth,” says Hayasaki, “with a new company focused on the recreational Powersports industry and exciting new models for 2014. I’m eager to work with Suzuki staff and dealers to continue this growth and brand momentum. We are creating opportunities for Suzuki dealers and Suzuki enthusiasts nationwide.”
From 1996 to 2002, Hayasaki served as assistant to the president of American Suzuki. During that tenure, Hayasaki oversaw the launch of the Hayabusa and the QuadSport Z400 ATV in 1999. Hayasaki also offers a background in sales, marketing, production and distribution with Suzuki.
Suzuki Motor of America is also creating a new after sales operations division, uniting parts, accessories and service functions into one body under the leadership of new executive vice president Takao Kudo.
