May Day Run: Toy Story 3 Street Triple

Every year on the first Bank holiday in May more than 25,000 bikers take to the A21 and ride to Hastings for what is Kent’s biggest bike meet.

The official route starts at Locksbottom in London and follows the A21 all the way to the coastal town of Hastings. We picked up the 50 mile spectator-clad route about half way down and in our group of 5 took a casual poodle down.

As you would expect when you get close to 30,000 bikers in one place at any one time there are some weird and wonderful sights. Two of my favourite – not so weird – sights were the hearse side car that you can actually hire for your own funeral, and this Triumph Street Triple clad in a custom Toy Story 3 paint job… Man that bear was evil..!

So that’s it, the summers officially here for many May Day runners. It certainly felt great to be out in the group of the usual mix match of bikes, Speed Triple, R1, Z1000, GSX1400, and a GSX-R750.
