Limited Edition MV Agusta Brutale Corsa Announced
Wed, 10 Jul 2013MV Agusta is adding another variant to its four-cylinder 1078cc Brutale lineup. Alongside the Brutale 1090, 1090 R and 1090 RR, MV Agusta will offer the new limited edition Brutale Corsa (and no, we’re pretty sure they didn’t at any point consider calling it the 1090 RRR. We’re pretty sure.)
The Brutale Corsa shares the same 1078cc 16-valve four-cylinder engine as the 1090 models. MV Agusta claims a peak output of 156.2 hp at 11900 rpm and 73.8 ft-lb. at 10100 rpm from the engine, enough to reach a claimed top speed of 164.5 mph.
For the Corsa, MV Agusta swapped out the 1090 models’ 50mm Marzocchi upside-down forks for a fully-adjustable 43mm Öhlins Nix upside-down fork with adjustable rebound compression, damping and external spring preload. MV Agusta also equipped it with lighter forged aluminum wheels and radial-mount Brembo Monobloc calipers (also available on the 1090 RR). ABS is standard, whereas the technology is optional for the regular Brutale 1090s.
Styling changes include the Pearl Red/Pearl White paint with gloss black trellis frame, hand-stitched rider and passenger seats, and billet brake levers, foot pegs and brake and clutch fluid reservoir caps. Other changes include a specially-designed tank pad, license plate holder and carbon fiber front and rear mudguards.
The MV Agusta Brutale Corsa will be produced in very limited numbers, and there’s no word about American availability. In Italy however, it will be sold for €20,990 (US$27,055), compared to €17,990 for the ABS-equipped Brutale 1090 RR, €14,990 for the 1090 R ABS and €13,590 for the ABS-equipped Brutale 1090.
