Kymco USA President and CEO Eric Bondy Steps Down

Fri, 02 Dec 2011

Kymco USA President and Chief Executive Officer Eric Bondy has resigned, stepping down from a position he has held for seven years.

Bondy is leaving Kymco to explore a new, but unspecified, opportunity, but will remain with the company until Dec. 15 to help ensure a smooth transition.

Ming Hsin Lee, current senior vice president of Kymco USA will replace Bondy as both president and CEO. Lee is a long-time employee of Kymco, joining the company in 1984 and working in various roles ranging from production, research and development, sourcing, quality control, IT, accounting and dealer development. For the last four years, Lee served as a liason between Kymco USA and the parent company from his native Taiwan.

Since assuming a leadership position with Kymco in 2005, Bondy has helped expand the comapny’s position as a scooter and ATV supplier in the U.S. With Bondy at the helm, Kymco established strategic partnerships with recognized American brands such as Coca-Cola, Ford, the Indy Racing League and the National Hot Rod Association. In 2008, Powersports Business magazine named Bondy Executive of the Year. Before landing with Kymco, Bondy worked nine years in various sales and marketing positions for Arctic Cat.

“I’ve been blessed and honored to be a member of the Kymco USA team for the past seven years and the relationships gained over that time are cherished,” says Bondy. “I leave the company in very capable and experienced hands with the naming of Mr. Lee to the CEO position. With the management team in place, I’m confident we’ll see great things in the future from Kymco in the US market.”
