Kenny Roberts True American Heroes Benefit – Hang Out with World Champions and Bo Derek!
Fri, 03 May 2013One of our favorite stories from 2012 was our coverage of the Kenny Roberts American Heroes Benefit Dinner. Hosted by King Kenny at his storied California ranch, it was an incredible opportunity to get close to the three-time world champ and other racing glitterati like Kenny Roberts Jr., Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson and renowned dirt-tracker Mert Lawwill. If those names resonate with you, it’s worth reading our story that includes a video and coverage of the Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr. Memorial Ride in which we got to share the road with some of the most legendary names in motorcycle racing.
And now it’s time for the second-annual charity event, again hosted at Kenny Sr.’s ranch in Modesto, CA. Proceeds from the May 10 event will benefit the “Welcome Home Heroes” foundation, while the group ride the following day supports the Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr. Memorial Foundation. For the second year in a row, Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., lends a hand as the title sponsor for the dinner.
The same racers as last year will attend the 2013 edition, as will Bruce Brown, the Oscar-nominated director of the iconic film, “On Any Sunday.” Adding some Hollywood glitz this time around will be the surprising attendance of Bo Derek, star, of course, of the memorable film “10.”
As you can imagine, seating for the True American Heroes Dinner is very limited, and tickets are $500 per person. To attend, your inquiry to Info@KennyRoberts.com or Info@TrueAmericanHero.org.
The DoubleTree hotel at 1150 9th Street in Modesto is the official hotel of the 2nd Annual True American Heroes Dinner. Guests can call 209-526-6000 and make room reservations under “Welcome Home Heroes.” Or, reserve online, using code “WHH”.
