Indian Teases New PowerPlus Family for 2025
Tue, 14 Jan 2025Roadmaster PowerPlus and Chieftain PowerPlus expect to join Challenger and Pursuit
Indian is teasing a new 2025 model review presentation on January 24 for the “new PowerPlus family”. Based on what we know thus far, we expect the presentation to include new liquid-cooled versions of the Roadmaster and Chieftain, joining the PowerPlus-engined Challenger and Pursuit.
The teaser materials spread across Instagram, X, and YouTube all center around the catchphrase “the Power to Roam”. The only part of a motorcycle we can clearly identify is a close-up shot of the Indian headdress fender ornament currently used on the Challenger and Pursuit with their more modern-looking frame-mounted fairings. The air-cooled Roadmaster and Chieftain use the older headdress design to go along with their fork-mounted batwing fairings.
As we were first to report last February, leaked internal documents from Indian revealed plans for a Chieftain PowerPlus and Roadmaster PowerPlus for 2025, which will be in addition to the air-cooled versions. The document also indicates two versions of the PowerPlus V-Twin engine, one with the existing 1,768cc (108ci) displacement and a larger version displacing 1,834cc (112ci).
We therefore expect next week’s announcement to be a four-bike PowerPlus touring range. The Challenger bagger and Pursuit full tourer will be for those who prefer the frame-mounted fairing while those who like the looks of a batwing will have a choice of the new Chieftain PowerPlus bagger or Roadmaster PowerPlus tourer. It remains to be seen which engine options will be offered with each model.
We also don’t know if there will be any further changes to any of the PowerPlus models. Harley-Davidson recently revamped its Road Glide and Street Glide models, and Indian will no doubt want to keep pace with its own offerings.
All will be revealed on Jan. 24 with the full announcement of Indian’s PowerPlus family.
