DogCamSport motorcycle mount - it sucks hard
Mon, 01 Nov 2010Here at Visordown we're still getting to grips with the world of video, and this new mount should help us grip that bit harder.
We use a GoPro camera, with mixed results. The problem the GoPro it is - if you do manage to get out of pit lane without it switching off - there's no screen so it's hard to get the perfect shot lined up. Many a Visordown tester has returned to the pits with a brilliant onboard lap of ...their rev counter.
However, this is all assuming you can actually mount it on the bike. The standard GoPro mount is sturdy, we'll give it that, but the sucker is actually pretty big. You try finding a modern motorcycle with enough of a flat surface to get the GoPro mount to stick. It's nigh on impossible...
So step up the Triple Alloy Suction Mount from DogCamSport. It has 3 suction mounts, giving it a better footing but also, each suction pad is a fair bit smaller than the GoPro item, so it should prove easier to get it to stick onto modern bikes. Even with one suction cup in place it's pretty strong. Check out the pic below and you'll see it has no problem holding a chunky Weise jacket either.
We'll be trying it out and will report back with a full review shortly.
