Amy Waldman suffered a concussion while Corey Waldman suffered a broken foot and other injuries. Both credited their helmets for saving their lives.
“I think I went off to the left side,” Corey Waldman tells WDTN. “I couldn’t see her at all. And we just slid, and slid, and slid. The only time it wouldn’t hurt for two seconds is when my helmet would hit the ground.”
The video footage was released to the public after a legal challenge by Dayton, Ohio, news station WDTN. Police dashboard footage is usually released to the public but Greene County prosecutor Stephen Haller initially withheld the video to allow the Waldmans and a Grand Jury to view it first.
The accident remains under investigation but as yet no charges have been laid.
