Copper and leather BMW
Tue, 11 Sep 2012This leather-coated BMW R51/3 bobber was created by its owner Hugo Ferraro, thanks to help from a Greek leathersmith, Elias Dairis.
You either love it or can't stand it.
The bike features a custom-made fuel tank, a leaf-spring front-end, standard wheels, a lighter crank and pistons and a hot cam. That said, it's not about performance; producing 35bhp, compared to the standard bike's 23bhp.
Instead of being painted, the bike's covered with leather and many of the metal parts have been copper plated and I reckon - for a bike of this era - it works.
You don't have to want to own it, but do you like it?
