A weekend of Lawn mower racing, Big Ed, Muc Off and Carlsberg
Mon, 14 Jun 2010Around this time every summer the BMF hold the Garden Of England Motorcycle Show otherwise known as GEMS. The show happens to be round the corner from me so event sponsors MCE Insurance kindly sent me some passes so I could have a look around.
Apart from the usual trade stands and crazy arena antics one of the highlights was the national lawn mower racing championship. Yup you can enter any type of lawn mower and go racing, nice idea! Overall it was a good show with a strong turn out, even Eddie Kidd was there signing autographs.
On Tuesday the Speed Triple is having its 6000 mile service. It’s also down to have a belly pan, small mirrors and a few other bits and pieces fitted from Triumphs extensive accessories catalogue. Knowing that mechanics loath working on dirty bikes I dug out the trusty Muc off degreaser spray and armed with a can of Carlsberg set to work getting speedy back to looking brand new.
Triumph will also be fitting a full under seat Arrow exhaust system. Over the last few months I’ve been busy testing some of the other latest cans on market so later this week I’ll write up a full comparison with pictures and data.
