2019 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport Revealed

Fri, 07 Sep 2018

Arrives in US dealerships in December, priced at $10,690

Moto Guzzi revealed a new, sportier variant of its V9 Bobber at its open house event in Mandello del Lario, Italy. The 2019 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport adds Öhlins rear shocks, a single seat, lower drag bars and a sportier riding position than the regular V9 Bobber.

This overlay of the two models illustrates the key differences between the two models:

The footpegs are further back and slightly higher for a sportier riding position, but not aggressively so. The new handlebar is also lower and placed farther forward, requiring a less upright posture. The instrument cluster and headlight, framed by a small black aluminum fairing, were also moved slightly forward and lower.

The engine remains the same 853cc V-Twin, only more blacked out. Moto Guzzi swapped out the V9 Bobber’s exhausts for new slip-ons with a matte black finish and a more oblique shape. Moto Guzzi hasn’t released any performance figures, but we figure the new exhaust would provide some change from the V9 Bobber’s claimed 55 hp at 6250rpm and 45.7 lb-ft. at 3000rpm.

Other changes include a smaller front fender, fork gaiters, a solo seat, different aluminum side covers and a orange color Moto Guzzi describes as “gritty.” Expect the 2019 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport to arrive in U.S. showrooms by December, carrying a $10,690 price tag, just a $200 premium over the regular Bobber.

I have a 2017 Bobber. Absolutely love it. Silky smooth running engine. Very comfortable. Lots of low end power and cruises all day at 70 mph with no issues, perfect for me. Add to that, quality fit and finish with metal fenders etc. And no cookie cutter Harley look alike or boy racer. In my 45 years of riding this is way at the top of my Like list of bike's I've owned and ridden.
