Aprilia’s RSV4 Factory has to be one of the most interesting and adrenaline-inducing literbikes around, and that’s just part of why we gave it an Honorable Mention in our Best of 2010 Sportbike category. We recently had opportunity to put on a poor but passing Max Biaggi imitation with one particularly fine example. This RSV comes courtesy of our friend Kaming Ko, who often helps us on test rides.

An RSV4 with MotoGP levels of aero, including the under wing. To celebrate 30 years since Aprilia won its first world championship title, Aprilia (or, more appropriately, the racing division) is introducing this, the RSV4 Xtrenta. Encompassing the same basic profile the RSV4 has carried since its birth over a decade ago, the Xtrenta is defined by the level of aerodynamic work the Noale factory has applied from its MotoGP program.

Dall’Igna Out, Albesiano In At Aprilia

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s rumored defection of Luigi Dall’lgna‘s from Aprilia to Ducati comes this morning’s press release from Piaggio. “The Piaggio Group has accepted, with immediate effect, the resignation of Luigi Dall’Igna – wishing him of course all the best for the future.” Replacing Dall’lgna is Romano Albesiano. Albesiano joined the Piaggio Group in 2005 as Aprilia Product Development Manager and currently manages Piaggio’s Motorbike Technical Center.
