This included style updates, like an under seat twin exhaust, and performance upgrades including radial brakes, and, for the 1st time an Ram-air intake. Furthermore, the tendency for wheelies by earlier productions was reduced by changing the geometry of the frame and weight distribution. The all-new engine was no longer pre-owned as a stressed member of the chassis, and featured a separate top crankcase and cylinder block. This weighs 380lb dry. The conventional front brake calipers were replaced by radially mounted calipers, activated by a radial master cylinder. A factory-installed steering damper was also added this year. Hizzy was a genius on a motorbike and when he was happy with everything around him, he was amongst the best in the world.
James Stewart Signs With Joe Gibbs Racing – Bubba Returning to Motocross and Eying Future in Nascar
Mon, 31 Oct 2011James Stewart has signed a multi-year contract with JGRMX, the motocross division of Joe Gibbs Racing. Stewart raced the last three years with the L & M Yamaha factory team, and he will continue with the Tuning Fork brand with JGRMX, riding a Yamaha YZ450F. The two-time AMA Supercross and one-time AMA Motocross Champion will debut with JGRMX at the Jan.

Wed, 08 Sep 2010We ran a couple of stories last week - both, coincidentally, about new Kawasakis. One was the first peek of the new ZX10R – hot stuff you’d imagine – the other, the new W800 retro parallel twin. I suppose it shouldn’t have shocked us, which story was most popular in terms of hits but it really does mark a seismic shifts in British biking attitudes that the W800 story doubled the hits of the ZX10 piece.
