Yamaha YZF-R description

Adult owned and garage kept 2009 Yamaha R1 (red/white) street bike.  The bike is in absolutely mint condition and has been meticulously maintained with new tires.  The 7200 miles put on the bike are highway miles.  I purchased the bike new in June 2009 for $12,800+.  Clean title in hand.  The sale includes: Yamaha R1 bike cover, 2 helmets (Bell and Shoei), aftermarket R1 racing grips, smoke windscreen, R1 frame sliders, owners manual, and original bill of sale from the dealership.  The original stock items will also be included with the sale of the bike.  This is a perfect bike to buy if you were planning to buy new but want to save money with a used bike.  The bike looks and performs like new.  With a young family I just don't have the time to enjoy it anymore.  I will accept cash or bank check only.  The buyer is responsible for pick-up of the bike.

According to Yamaha, the program is designed to encompass a broad spectrum of road racing series across the U.S., from numerous club-level and regional sprint series events to the AMA Pro Road Racing series, including the addition of the ASRA Team Challenge Endurance Series.

Recall for 2006-2009 Yamaha FJR1300

Mon, 04 Jul 2011

Yamaha is recalling certain 2006-2009 FJR1300 sport-tourers due to a problem with the electrical system. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the ground joint connector of the wire harness on some Yamaha FJR1300 models may overheat and become deformed. If the electrical system is not properly grounded, the motorcycle’s electric components including the ignition system may malfunction, potentially causing the engine to stall.
