2015 Yamaha YZF R1 in near perfect condition, no dings or scratches. Only 1200 original miles, has been adult ridden, no wheelies or any hard riding, just spirited twists of the throttle. All Factory campaign updates have been completed. For the buy it now price I will include a large blacked out HJC helmet (used for life of bike), and a small black and red HJC (worn 3 times buy my wife). Only mod is Graves rear fender eliminator, still have the original parts as well. Will include original rear fender in sale. No games - No Test Rides. Canadian Speeder’s Yamaha R1 Seen in Now-Famous YouTube Video Sold in Auction

The Vancouver Sun is reporting on its website today that the Yamaha R1 made famous in a YouTube video featuring the rider speeding along the Trans-Canada Highway was sold recently for $4,651 in an online auction. According to the Sun the auction was conducted by B.C.’s Civil Forfeiture Office, which can seize property believed to have been used for unlawful activity. The winning bidder, 4x4albert, beat more than 70 bids to claim the 2006 R1.

Yamaha Becomes First Official OEM Partner of AIMExpo

Just in time for this weekend’s DealerExpo in Indianapolis, the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) announced today that Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA will use the event to introduce its 2014 products to the marketplace. Yamaha is the first official OEM partner of AIMExpo, a landmark step in the continued growth of the event, which is hoping to be a viable rival to DealerExpo as a powersports industry destination. Yamaha’s range of powersports products comprises both the Yamaha and Star motorcycle brands.

Ryan Villopoto won his fifth race of the season while James Stewart took second place to just barely remain in contention for the 2014 AMA Supercross title. Meanwhile it was a bitter-sweet podium for third-place finisher KTM‘s Ryan Dungey who was officially mathematically eliminated from title contention. Racing in his home town of Seattle, Wash., Villopoto led every lap en route to an easy win, his fifth of the season.
