The 2012 World GP 50th Anniversary Edition celebrates Yamahas racing heritage with Pearl White / Rapid Red livery. It includes a 50th Anniversary emblem on top of the fuel tank and a special numbered plate showing the production number of only 1,500 units that where produced world wide. This one is number 468!!! It has had all of the following added on: A HotBodies double bubble Blacked out windscreen, Flush mounted Smoke Led Front Turn Signals, and a Smoked out undertail from HotBodies, with Led Blinkers molded into the under tail. and a license plate relocation bracket. I purchased this bike brand new 4 months ago, it has been kept in the garage everyday and night. It is in Showroom condition with no scratches. So that'll be none of us getting one of these, then. The good news: you can choose between an R1 or an R6, they're supplied black and with a racing ECU and loom.
Yamaha Names Olivier Pain and Michael Metge to 2015 Dakar Team
Fri, 23 May 2014Yamaha has retained Olivier Pain and Michael Metge to race for its official factory team in the 2015 Dakar Rally. Pain and Metge will ride a new WR450F Rally currently being developed for the 2015 rally. Both riders raced for the Yamaha team in this year’s rally; Pain finished third overall behind KTM Red Bull team’s Marc Coma and Jordi Viladoms while Metge rode as a support rider for fourth-place finisher Cyril Despres.

Their secret for being so good at what they do is that they totally immerse themselves in Yamaha by working at the Yamaha offices. Hilarity ensues. James Toseland works the mail room, while Colin Edwards does security, quoting Eric Cartman from a 10 year-old-South Park episode. Jorge Lorenzo is washing windows and Valentino Rossi is working the front desk.
