Yamaha YZF-R description

I've had some R1's before but this one is by far the best.  Engine, transmission, paint, plastic, suspension, all in like new condition.  Still on factory chain and sprockets and they show little to no signs of wear.  Zero aftermarket parts installed except exhaust.  I do have the factory exhaust and it does go with it.  Bike rides and performs like the day it rolled off the line.  Engine performs and functions perfectly as does transmission.  Clutch is firm and precise with no slippage.  Lights, gauges, and controls are free from any defects.  Bike has been stored inside a climate controlled building and hasn't slept outside since I have owned it.  If there was a road long enough to get to Berlin I would take this motorcycle there tomorrow.  She is a perfect running machine.

Yamaha Tests New Engine Spec at Sepang

Tue, 28 Feb 2012

Yamaha MotoGP riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies tested new engine specifications for their YZR-M1 prototypes on the first day of testing at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit. Wet conditions limited track time in the afternoon but Yamaha was able to get some data on the engine in the morning. Yamaha also worked on finding a solution to front end chatter problems.

Custom Motorcycle Inspired By…A Stove?

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

The custom motorcycle scene is different in Indonesia. Just take this 1968 Yamaha XS650 for example. Built by Barata Dwiputra of Thrive Motorcycles, his inspiration came from a very unsuspecting source: wood-burning stoves.

Simon and Leo

Thu, 11 Aug 2011

If you are a track day regular this year, you may well have bumped into former racer and friendly Kiwi, Simon Crafar. I first met him in Malaysia in 1990 when he was riding for a Yamaha dealer team, sweating his way round circuits like Shah Alam and Johor Bahru but with a long term plan to make it onto the World scene. And he didn’t take long as after riding for Honda in the UK in 1992 he moved to WSB in 1994 and enjoyed success with both the Honda and Kawasaki factory teams.
