2014 AMA Supercross – Oakland Results

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

With three different racers tasting victory in the first three rounds of the 2014 AMA Supercross Championship, the season was shaping up to be one of the deepest and most competitive fields we’ve seen. But at Round Four at O.o Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., Ryan Villopoto showed why he remains the top dog, leading each lap for his second win of the season. The Kawasaki rider only trailed at the very start of the race, as Honda rider Vince Friese took the holeshot with Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton slotting in second through the first corner.

The Japanese oddity to naming teams

Wed, 28 Jul 2010

Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. In support of the Yamaha True American Heroes Weekend–the fundraising event taking place this weekend at Kenny Roberts’ legendary ranch in Modesto, California–Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., has donated a 2014 Star Bolt to the Benefit Auction that is a featured event during the weekend. The announcement was made by Bob Starr, General Manager of Communications for Yamaha’s Motorsports Group. Our own Kevin Duke made it out to the event in 2012, where he had the chance to ride with some of the sport’s biggest legends.
