Hello, I am selling a 2004 Yamaha YZ 85. I have owned the bike for 3 yrs now. I am a mellow rider who enjoys only trail riding. I mainly went up to Browns Camp but on occasion, I went to Jones Creek up in Washington. I only went up every other weekend for 3 mnths of each year. The bike is in terrific condition. Bigger engine, new saddlebags, and updated electronics This just in from Yamaha Europe, whether this applies Stateside remains to be seen: For 2023, Yamaha has updated the Niken in just about every area of the bike. The high points include the engine, TFT functionality, and suspension. Since the company considers the Niken to be “one of Yamaha’s most sophisticated Sport Tourers,” the emphasis on improving the quality of the rider’s experience should come as no surprise.

When Yamaha announced its new R1 literbike last fall, company reps told us about the tractability assets of its new, MotoGP-derived crossplane crankshaft for the four-cylinder engine. It’s unique in that cylinders fire 90-degrees apart, allegedly enabling better grip during acceleration. A byproduct of this design is an exhaust note that is distinctive in this world of cookie-cutter designs.
