Beautifully restored 1981 Yamaha Yz60. The Yz60 was made from 1981-83, it was only made in this style in 1981. Completely dissasembled and redone. Frame was sandblasted and painted, everything else sandblasted and powder coated. Matching motor and frame numbers of 4V0-002790, New front tire and tube, new rear tire and tube. New clutch discs. New front sprocket and chain. Rear sprocket was not available, current one in great condition, and was cleaned and powder coated. New seat cover, new OEM style wicked tough graphics. New scott handgrips. Carburator was cleaned with new needle valve installed, new fuel petcock, new gas lines. New fork seals and fork oil. New clutch and brake levers. Runs and drives excellent and looks like new. Plastic all completely sanded down, cleaned and reheated for shine, in great original condition. Every nut and bolt was cleaned and coated, it looks like new. The Yz60 had a very short 3 year run, and are getting very difficult to find, let alone in this condition.. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end, full payment due within 48 hours of auction end, anything other then that must be talked about ahead of time. Provisional 2012 World Superbike Championship Entry List Released
Wed, 18 Jan 2012The International Motorcycling Federation has released a preliminary entry list for the 2012 World Superbike Championship. The preliminary list includes 24 entries representing six manufacturers: Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki. Noticeably absent is Yamaha which announced last summer it would pull out of WSBK racing.
AMA Supercross: 2012 Arlington Results
Tue, 21 Feb 2012Defending champion Ryan Villopoto won his third consecutive AMA Supercross race in Arlington, Texas, but the victory was overshadowed by a season-ending injury suffered by one of his main challengers Chad Reed. TwoTwo Motorsport Honda‘s Reed trailed Villopoto in second place for the first six laps at Cowboys Stadium. Disaster struck on Lap 7 however as Reed crashed hard in the whoops.
OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes
Sat, 01 Nov 2008KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
