The Japanese oddity to naming teams

Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. California Superbike School 2-day Camp at Silverstone

California Superbike School will be running a 2-day camp at Silverstone for the first time in the UK this August, offering riders a chance to enjoy extra track time while improving their skills in the art of cornering. Taking place on the all-new South circuit (1.9 miles long with 12 turns) students can ride their own bike or hire a fully prepared 2010 Yamaha R6 with the latest Dunlop Sportsmart tyres and fuel included. Already hugely popular with students returning year after year, previously the 2-day camps have been held in Spain during the spring.

Ienatsch, Hill, Russell, Bestwick To Give Speech At Yale Today

In what might be considered the most shocking news of 2014 so far, Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill are going to Yale. While some might think the Chief and Lead instructors at the newly revamped Yamaha Champions Riding School are getting in over their heads, the two are at Yale as lead presenters for “Excellence In Motion: What Motorcycle Racing Can Teach Us About Success,” which begins at 4pm (local time) today.  When put into context, their appearance at one of the nation’s top schools is understandable. Each has had their fair share of success aboard motorcycles, and they will be joined by two more champions on two-wheels, five-time Daytona 200 winner and 1993 World Superbike Champion Scott Russell, and Jamie Bestwick, an avid motorcyclist and winner of eight consecutive X-Games BMX Vert gold medals.
