Up for your consideration  is one

1978 Yamaha YZ250E

6 Speed

selling my race bike,
Had some real good rides on this one
Let a kid race it for his first time on a 2-stroke
at Glen Helen, 40 riders and this kid got his first First Place Finish EVER
!

I'm old and have won my share on this bike.

A little about this bike. Always Garaged.
It's a 2 stroke, so you have to pre-mix oil with the gas.

I combined 3 YZ's that I had to build this one.
I had a old stadium bike that ran great, and the frame was trash.

Ported and polished, took the 6 speed motor and placed it in another frame,

Added a White Brothers shock, installed 1980 forks &polished the forks,

put on cammo seat cover,
added weld on foot pegs, answer silencer, new hand controls,

new kill button, older Renthal bars,

recently changed out the oil in the trans and forks,

tires in good shape, I would say 75% on them
used round wheels from another bike,

and went racing.
This bike has never failed me, I put on some 82
graphics just to be different.

I've had this bike for over 17 years

There is no title, (it's so old) but I will furnish a Bill of Sale

I still race vintage Motocross, even though I am getting up in the years,

I have CZ's, Bultaco's, Husqvarnas , and a bunch of 70's YZ's

Ask any questions that you need answered,

the reserve is a reasonably fare price,

not astronomical like some of the bikes I have looked at

Yamaha Recalls R1 and Super Tenere for Overheating Headlights

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

Yamaha has started a recall campaign on 2009-2013 YZF-R1 sportbikes and 2012-2013 Super Ténéré models because of a risk of headlight failure due to overheating. The recall campaign affects 19,045 units of the R1 and 4,683 units of the Super Ténéré in the U.S. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, heat generated by the headlight bulb socket may cause the terminal ends to expand, resulting in arcing between the terminal connector and bulb contact.

2014 AMA Supercross – Detroit Results

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

Yoshimura Suzuki‘s James Stewart captured his third win of the 2014 AMA Supercross season and 48th 450 class victory of his career, tying him with Ricky Carmichael for second on the all-time win list behind Jeremy McGrath‘s 72. Racing before a crowd of 50,856 fans at Ford Field in Detroit, Stewart took the lead from holeshot-taker Cole Seely shortly before the end of the second lap and led the rest of the 20-lap race for the win. Stewart led by as much as 7.1 second but eased off at the end, crossing the finish less than two seconds ahead of Kawasaki‘s Ryan Villopoto.
