1976 Yamaha YZ125X Winner of 2005 & 2006 AHRMA National Championships Formerly owned by the late Mike Owens, who used it to win the 2005-06 AHRMA Historic 125cc Expert Championships in Post-Vintage Motocross, updated with aluminum swingarm & porcupine cylinder head. After its title-winning days, the bike went on static display in Owens' extensive collection of vintage dirt bikes, while he turned his attention to the Legends & Heroes Motocross Museum. In race-prepped condition, with engine overhaul by Boyko Racing and suspension rebuild by DeWayne Jones, the YZ has been in a private collection since Owens' passing in 2015, and remains unridden. It should need only a simple recommissioning to be track-ready once more. Mileage is obviously low, though the exact amount is unknown. The bike is sold on a bill of sale, no title. Listed in a separate auction is Owens' championship-winning 1979 YZ400. Mon, 17 Feb 2014Despite losing the World Supersport title last year to a hard-charging Sam Lowes, Mahi Racing Team India’s Kenan Sofuoglu, aboard his Kawasaki ZX-6R, hasn’t lost any of the pace that has made him the overwhelming favorite heading into 2014. He topped the timesheets on the first day of testing at Phillip Island, setting a time of 1:33.521, putting him at near lap-record pace. Second on the day was Dutchman Michael van der Mark, aboard the Pata Honda CBR600RR.
