Yamaha XS description

"The XS is a Rolls Royce with a blown Chrysler Hemi motor..." - Cycle magazine first review. 1978

This is a rare Muscle Cafe Racer. Excellent Condition. Brand New Tires. Bought this from a mechanic who customized it and kept it in great shape. I've taken it on a couple road trips and I've never had a more smooth ride.

I also have the original seat and other parts that were stripped off to convert to a cafe style.

Only Issues:

1) Someone broke the high beam switch on a test ride so only the low beam works unless I fix it before it's sold. New switch costs about $50 with shipping. Also needs front turn signals.

2) It once seemed to lose poser when I was accelerating. I spoke to the previous owner (a mechanic) who had experienced this symptom very rarely and said it goes away when you've revved the engine a little.

3) One of the small side covers is lose. It needs replacing. will costs aprox $50 unless I have time to get a new one before it sells.

These are the only imperfections I'm aware of. This bike is in Incredible condition. Selling it because I found a great deal on a Ducati and can't afford both. Feel free to ask any questions. Enjoy.

Yamaha Sketches out the Features on the New 2010 YZ450F [Video]

Thu, 10 Sep 2009

You’ll realize how cheesy that headline is after watching the pretty rad video that Yamaha has released. Yamaha’s new motocross bike has taken a radical new approach.  The engine is backwards. Yamaha’s reason for doing this is to shift the heavy end of the motor more to the center of the motorcycle to make it more agile and responsive.  Slanting the cylinder also made for a straighter pathway for the air intake at the front of the bike.

2014 AMA Supercross – Toronto Results

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

James Stewart captured his series-leading fourth AMA Supercross 450 class win of the season, giving him sole possession of second place on the overall career wins list ahead of Ricky Carmichael and behind Jeremy McGrath. The win also helped Stewart gain some ground on points leader Ryan Villopoto who suffered from a bout of food poisoning. Villopoto was examined at a Toronto hospital and released in time for the opening ceremonies.

Ask MO Anything: Should I Buy a New 2022 Yamaha MT-10?

Thu, 06 Oct 2022

Is this a trick question? Dear MOby, Thank God I’m in the enviable position of having a wife that gave me the OK to get whatever bike I want, after selling off all my old ones about seven years ago. So, here’s my parameters: After test riding a ton of stuff, I’ve decided I want a (bigger) naked bike, and in first place is the 2022 Yamaha MT-10.
