1982 Yamaha Xj650 on 2040-motos
Yamaha XJ650 tech info
Yamaha XJ650 description
I bought this last year with the intentions of fixing it as as my project. Well that plan has changed - I just don't have time with all of my house projects/chores.
I bought it from the 2nd owner... the title that was in his name was from 1987. He bought it from his buddy in 1987. He said the fuel pump went out years ago & he switched it to gravity feed. He said he couldn't find a working fuel pump for under $400 when it failed which is why he switched it. Well the turbo wouldn't spool without the fuel pump, so he just parked it in his garage. Well I bought it & found a rather expensive fuel pump & I bought a full matching lockset (he had lost one key at some point so it currently has 2 different keys). Also comes with repair manuals & a bucket of parts for the old fuel pump. I never heard it ran... but this would be a sweet bike for someone with the time & know-how. Clean the carbs & change the fluids & throw in a battery & you could be good to go. Bike is located in Greenwood, Indiana. I can help load onto a trailer. |
